The Royal Television Society

The Royal Television Society (RTS) is a leading educational charity and professional membership body that supports and celebrates the television and broadcasting industry in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1927, the organisation works with major broadcasters and production companies to promote excellence in television, provide industry training, and support emerging talent entering the screen industries. Through initiatives such as student awards, mentoring schemes, networking events, and bursary programmes, the RTS helps young creatives gain insight into the television industry while connecting them with professionals and potential career opportunities. These schemes are designed to identify and support the next generation of filmmakers, producers, journalists, and media practitioners across the UK. In 2024, I was selected as part of the RTS cohort, recognising my potential as an emerging creative within the television and media industry. Being chosen for the cohort provided access to industry events, networking opportunities, and professional development resources, allowing me to engage directly with industry professionals and gain insight into careers in television production and media. This experience contributed significantly to my professional development and helped strengthen my connection to the wider screen industries community.
